Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

APQP is a systematic approach to advance quality planning. APQP comprehensively describes which steps and activities have to be carried out for a product before the start of production in order to guarantee a high-quality product for the end customer. APQP is the guarantee that a process is followed during the design and development of the product, which leads to a high quality standard for the product.  APQP is a structured process with standardized methods such as Design & Process FMEA, the PPAP process, as well as various documentation and commercial requirements. A central result of the APQP process is the production control plan, which serves as the basis for series production.
